Still in St. Louis

Today was filled with exploration - the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis is filled with 83,000 square
feet of mosaic work.  It contains 41.5 million pieces of glass tessare, was began in 1912 and completed in 1988.  Pope John Paul II visited (we saw his chair) in 1997.

Clang, clang, clang went the trolley on its way to the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in 1904.

Forest Park is huge and beautifully maintained.  Look familiar?

Union Station has been restored and remodeled into a Marriott and shopping mall.  Paul Harvey had a restaurant there with waitresses in these perfectly starched uniforms.
Now I'm going to enjoy a fried lemon pie.  Really.  The shop is just down the street.
